Barring the unforeseen, most single family residential projects can be completed in six to eight months from start to substantial completion. Closing land purchases, securing financing, obtaining permits and working with contractors' schedules all impact the typical timeline. On the other hand, if all approvals are secured, home packages purchased without financing for construction on land owned outright could easily take less than six months.
Your PeaPod Home™ design consultation, site analysis, and design / blueprint drawing phase can usually be completed in about four to six weeks once the site engineering is provided. After approvals are secured from the permitting authorities, your production order can be scheduled for delivery in about six to eight weeks. Site work can begin and the ICFs for the foundation will be the first to arrive. The balance of the component package will be delivered and erection of the dried-in shell takes about another two weeks.
After the shell is up, the finished roof and protective underlayment for the exterior siding will likely be the first improvements. Thereafter, your contractor will systematically work the project through to completion. Expect finishing to take about another three to four months.
